In-house chartering now in Oslo

Our in-house chartering department has been in effect since Tschudi Logistics started in 2006, as a logical leg to support our project logistics team in providing solutions for ocean freight. Until now, the department has been operated from Aarhus in Denmark, but due to structural changes, it has now moved to Oslo in Norway, next to our headquarters.

Stig Rich Pedersen will head the department and draw on his experience and know-how stemming from more than 20 years in the maritime and logistics industry.

“Having an in-house chartering department gives us a strong competitive advantage. Our extensive network of ship owners, and the short chain of command enables our team to deliver flexible solutions - quickly. Our sole purpose, as in-house chartering department, is to support our co-workers in finding the right tonnage at the right time, so the end-client gets the best possible solution every time.” comments Stig.

Stig Rich Pedersen has been with Tschudi Logistics since August 2021. He has been filling the role as Country Manager of the Norwegian based project logistics department, in addition to being part of the chartering department in Aarhus.

“I have worked with chartering activities for many years, so for me this role was a natural next step in my career, and I am truly grateful for the trust, opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. Tschudi is family-owned Norwegian company and centralizing our chartering activities closer to our headquarters will naturally create better synergies across the Tschudi Group, and our various shipping & logistics activities.” Stig concludes.

Compared to other modes of transport, ocean freight is most often more price-efficient, reliable, and environmentally friendly, while still giving access to rural areas when combining connections with inland transport options such as road, rail, and river barges.
